Australian Business Spotlight: Sassind Melbourne

If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook you will have seen this pic I posted last week, showcasing Australian label Sassind

Australian Business Spotlight: Sassind

Yoga Pant* $59.00 | Cotton Jersey Scooped Hem Tank* $49.00 | French Linen Open Knit Top* $169.00 | Peach Tassel Earring* $59.00 Bohemian Traders Shoes Oldies from Jo Mercer

These pants and tee are seriously comfort city, I feel like I’m wearing my pj’s – but in a super stylish way of course 😉

And can we just look at the prices? I know bloody bargain for high quality ethically sourced, cotton jersey.

Note: size down in these pants my friends – my generous hip and thigh would not normally fit into a size S (wearing the M in the pic) but I could easily have fitted into the Small, especially after I had worn them for a while.

Anyway, as usual I’ve started off all gushy gushy about the threads, without properly introducing this fab Australian label to you.

When I first read about Sassind, these words truly resonated with me…

“For the daydreamers, the travellers and the homebodies. We value style over trends and quality over quantity”

What a mantra for a luxe label to live by.

Just those few words made my heart beat a bit faster. I felt an instant connection.

Yes you could say, Sassind had me at HELLO – plus the website website oozes effortless sophistication, which pulled me straight in.

Now, my passion for luxe fabrics is nothing new around these parts. I have confessed my love affair many times over.

I can remember using a whole pay packet in my early twenties, just to buy a very similar outfit to the one I’m wearing below.

But it was owning a Bridal Boutique, that really fine tuned my love of the finest fabrics (silk and linen are my absolute favourites).

For me, fabric is king and the crucial component in designing – the best creations in the world can be instantly ruined, by a wrong fabric choice.

Trends comes and go lovelies, but classic, beautifully stylish pieces will always be in fashion.

So I just knew the effortless Sassind style (with the emphasis on natural fabrics) would suit my style personality to perfection.

Plus, I have always relied on understated quality pieces to be the building blocks of my wardrobe.

Note: this silk can be hand-washed (music to my ears, as I loathe paying for dry cleaning).

Silk Wide Leg Pants In Blush* $179.00 | Silk Freestyle Blouse* $179.00 both Sassind | St Lucia Necklace* $110.00 Pink Deer

Sizing: I am wearing the Large in the Pants (I did try the M, but they slightly clipped my thigh at the pocket, plus the L gave me extra length in the leg ). I am also wearing the L in the blouse – as it’s an oversized style, I definitely should have gone for the M.

When I see a wide leg pants, I find it extremely difficult to look away, without pressing add to cart. There is something about the flow of the pant that seems to flatter my pear-shaped butt and thigh.

The back of these pants is also elasticated for comfort.

Imagine wearing this look to a summer beach wedding – it would be sensational.

Now based in Melbourne, Tamara and Craig Ryan are the founders of Sassind.

After many years of travelling and working in luxury hotels all over the globe, the couple were inspired to design functional capsule pieces that every traveller could pack in their luggage.

Pieces that can be worn to the beach or a city dinner – with just the change of a shoe.

But these threads are not just for travelling, they are also perfect for our busy everyday lives.

Classic with a nod to the latest trend, while still offering diversity for all body shapes.

Sassind is a luxe brand (but don’t let the word luxe send you running for the hills) all price points are covered (as you can see from the yoga pants and tee).

Anyway, I believe we all deserve a little luxury in our lives.

Maybe beautiful cashmere is your luxe fabric of choice, or could it be silk and linen like moi!

Whatever your pleasure, you will truly feel the love, passion and determination behind this label. Every item is delicately packed in a scented cloth bag (the smell was divine).

The team at Sassind truly strive to bring you the best; of the very best.

Quality, ethically sourced natural fibres from all over the world.

This determination has produced a collection that is as ageless, as it is diverse.
