Woolovers Snuggly Giveaway

Hey gorgeous – how’s your week been?

What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Here on the Sunny Coast we’ve seen a considerable drop in the temperature, mixed with heavy rain…yes, I may have uttered the word freezing over the last couple of days – rather dramatic I know, but that’s how I roll 😉

Would you believe, that even though I freezed my way through the first 48 years of my life in England, I have very quickly adjusted to the mild winters that living in SE QLD offers?  Which now translates to me daring to utter the words bone-chilling, if the temp drops below a balmy 20 degrees – ridiculous to even utter those words as my last winter living in the UK the temps dropped to -12 degrees!

Anyway, as I mentioned in my last post we’re heading to Melbourne in August, so I’m still very much focused on filling my virtual suitcase for our trip – trust me, I already need to cull and it’s still 3 months away!

Every piece that comes with me, needs to pass ‘the Melbourne test’:

Will it:

  • Look stylish.
  • Keep me warm and snuggly.
  • Can it be layered.
  • Fit into the colour palette: Black, Grey, White, Navy (to include denim) with hits of pastel (my best colours).

Here are the next two pieces I’ll be adding to my case…anyone would think I was going for two weeks instead of only 4 days 🙂

Linen and Cotton Rolled Edge Cardigan

This cardigan is the perfect all round piece. It’s lightweight enough to wear in a QLD summer (linen/cotton mix) but also a superb layering piece for autumn winter.

The genius about this cardigan though, is it folds in half to make a great scarf – excellent for travelling in the cooler months too, especially on a flight. Fold your coat into the overhead storage and layer this over a long-sleeved tee or use as a scarf, to stay warm – why to planes need to be so cold?

Pssst. Don’t forget the black  Midrise Crop Flare Jean is reduced from $149.00 to $90.00 – I’m wearing the 32″ but as they are stretchy could have gone 30″

Blue (in all of it shades) has always been a favourite colour of mine. So when I saw this ‘washed-out denim’ look cardigan I knew it was a ‘ME’ piece.

Note: I always recommend sizing up in cardigans – they look way better oversized, ‘sprayed on’ is never a good look in any piece of clothing, but especially not cardigans.

This one in all of its textured glory, will get a humongous workout from me.

Wear it:

  • Casually with comfy drop crotch pants and kicks.
  • With your favourite denims, a crisp white shirt and ankle boots – if your game, swap the ankle boots for this seasons OTK (over the knee) boots trend.
  • Boho style – wear it over a boho wrap dress or maxi skirt, finish with a wrap scarf and ankle boots.

Oh and one last thing…I hope you’ve all noticed it has POCKETS – winner, I say, WINNER.

Because you all know #irismaylovespockets right?

I must just give a mention to these pants from Hunt + Kelly – stylish and comfort can be used in the same sentence. They work so well with kicks, but also look great worn smart casual…and they also have POCKETS!

  • Jacqueline Mitrovits

I love both particularly the cardigan in blush – been looking for a blush colour cardi as I think I’ll get more wear out of a cardi than jacket!

    • The pink is divine Jacqueline – I also love that its cotton and linen. So easy to wear as a layering piece too! xxx
