What are you doing on December the 1st?
Lovelies, how do you fancy meeting up for a pre-Christmas celebration?
I know how exciting eh? If you live close enough to Brisbane (we) (- I’m using that ‘we’ in a very royal way 😉 ) have a treat in store for you.
The gorgeous Rachael from Ruby and Lilli is hosting a 2nd Birthday bash on the 1st December.
Everyone is welcome.
Where: Miss Bliss Whole Foods Kitchen, Vulture Street, West End, Brisbane.
When: Thursday 1 December 2016
Time: 7pm – 10pm
It’s also the perfect excuse for a girly Christmas get together.
We can catch-up or meet for the first time – either way, let’s make some memories…
Imagine walking into a room and being handed a champagne cocktail.
Next, you notice the grazing table filled with fabulous food (this might be my favourite part – just saying).
One you’ve finished that fabulous champagne cocktail, and before you reach for your wallet (or start excusing yourself and go rushing off like a mad women to find the nearest ATM – yes this is my life people, I NEVER carry cash) simply just order your next drink (a glass of bubbles, a wine or a mocktail) – it will be there waiting for you with your name on it. Which means you can carry on having fun and socialising with like-minded women.
Yep. All the above is included AND I haven’t even mentioned the goody bag – can I just add, it’s stylish, sweet and you won’t be disappointed.
But as usual, I’m spouting out the best bit, before I’ve actually filled you in on the facts 😉
So, how do I know Rachael from Ruby and Lilli?
Let’s go back a few months…
Before I received my very first email from the lovely Rachael from Ruby and Lilli I already knew who she was (as I’m sure most of you do too).
I had seen lots of fabulous women (women that inspire me on a daily basis) rocking Rachael’s fabulous tee’s on IG and FB.
I watched and admired from afar – I’m a bit of a lurker sometimes – just don’t tell anyone.
What sparked my attention though, was the cut of the tee.
As you already know, I have boobs. Said boobs need a lower neckline to stop them looking even bigger.
I also LOVE my tee’s to have sleeves.
If you can nail this combo for me, then I’m a happy gal – I will also remain extremely faithful to you.
Ruby and Lilli make tee’s that work beautifully for my curves.
From the moment I tried on my first tee – I knew I was a fan. They are not tight-fitting (I have wobbly bits that I prefer to hide), I also have a curvy butt that looks better with a bit of coverage!
Fast forward a few short months…
My Ruby and Lilli tee’s are still getting a huge workout in my wardrobe – don’t you just adore longevity?
But now I’m also wearing new additions to the R&L collection, gorgeous scarves and accessories…if you haven’t seen them yet – please check them out…Beckie may have gone back to Brisbane with a scarf in her bag when she left on Sunday (I had bought it as a pressie for my sister, but who can refuse the baby lawyer?) – the scarves are delightful and some will easily transition into her corporate wardrobe.
Now, Rachael is friends with the gorgeous Karen @styleloving2 – these two together, are simply hilarious – a stylish comedy duo!
I also happen to love Karen.
They are both so kind and caring.
When I couldn’t make it to Melbourne Cup last week with my back injury, they visited me before heading back to Brisbane, this meant the world to me.
Kindness truly melts my heart.
So as you can probably tell:
I like good people.
I like sincere people.
I can spot a ‘good one’ at 100 paces…by the way, so can the baby lawyer.
At Brisbane Fashion Weekend a few weeks ago Beckie met Rachael (Ruby and Lilli) for the first time (Beckie had already met Karen – she also got the Beckie stamp of approval).
Like me, Beckie took to Rachael instantly. After 30 minutes Beckie said she felt like she had known Rachael a lifetime.
Rachael is a good soul, with a big heart.
I truly want her to reach the stars in her business – she so deserves it. Anything I can do to give her a helping hand, is fine by me.
Rachael came to visit me on Monday, so we could have a chat with you all about the event.
I made a little video – this is only my second video ever – so it’s far from perfect and Jonny has had such a struggle editing it.
But it’s real…and probably very amateurish, so please be kind as I do stuff up towards the end and Jonny struggled to edit it out – he gave up just before midnight last night!

What I’m wearing on the video and the pics.
Kimocape in White Lotus* $79.95 Miss Lilly | White Drop Crotch Pants* $129.00 Bohemian Traders | Strappy Singlet in White* $119.00 Bohemian Traders | Shoe: Viables by Django and Juliette* $210.00 Cinori Shoes | Earrings: Aphrodite* $24.95 Ruby and Lilli | Ring: Druzy* $19.95 Ruby and Lilli
Whenever I’m in doubt about what to wear, I almost always reach for my Bohemian Traders Drop Crotch Pants. the white are my ultimate summer go-to pant. If you already have the BT droppies in another colour – I urge you to add the white to your collection, you will wear them heaps!
Style Tip: If the thought of white jeans makes you break out into a cold sweat, consider replacing the white jean look with these drop crotch pants. They are shorter in the leg so instantly look more summery.
Quick note: if you don’t love drop crotch pants – I’m ok with that, but to me they are my comfort zone.
The strappy singlet also from Bohemian Traders is a new item for me, it’s also a summer must-have in my book. The cut is divine. It’s perfect to wear under jackets and kimono’s, plus if you are like me and don’t love your arms, the breathable linen makes it super wearable under items on a stinking hot day.
This Kimocape from Miss Lilly is so versatile and another wardrobe winner.
Made from the softest rayon it floats in the wind and helps you to stay cool and fresh when the heat is on. It also looks feminine and adds delicate shoulder coverage on hot sunny days.
Wear over a shoestring dress, with pants or shorts. Even to the beach over your cossie – it comes in several colours to suit all tastes.
The kimocape can be worn 4 different ways:
- Belted as a dress.
- As a kimono.
- Knotted at the front.
- Or it has clever little button (invisible to the eye) that help it stay in place (great for discrete breast-feeding).
I didn’t have time to shoot pictures of this kimono in all its different forms, but I will do this for you in the next week or so.
