I see them as the winter version of the summer kimono.
Just to prove my passion has been around for a while – check out this post from last year.
To me longline cardigans are the epitome of style and sophistication.
Not only do they keep you snuggly, they also smooth, skim and make a huge ‘POW’ (I borrowed the pow from Batman 😉 ) on the statement stakes.
They’re also pretty darn good at elongating the torso.
What more could a girl ask for eh?
This week I will be focusing on three different cardigans that have landed in my P O box over the last week.
All different, so fingers crossed, one of them will float your style-boat too – just as they have mine.
CHECK OUT THE PRICE OF THE CARDIGAN BEAUTIES!
This Freez cardigan appealed to me because of the shape, texture and colour.
The ribbing adds great depth to the open-style look, but it’s not at all chunky, so no added bulk – always a bonus.
Colour wise, camel works like a dream paired back with black, navy or white – most of my wardrobe then!
Quite a few years ago I had an almost identical cardigan to this beauty from Adrift, it was jet-black. I use the word ‘was’ because it is no more. In my infinite wisdom, I decided it would be fine to throw said gorgeous cardigan into the washing machine on a delicate wash…only I forgot to change the temp to cold 😉
For the record. It didn’t wash well. I was heartbroken.
So as soon as I saw this one, I just knew we would be friends…yep, you guessed it, the pockets sealed the deal!
Although the colour says grey and its showing itself as grey against the white wall, I think it looks more like a very light blue IRL (in real life).
I adore that this one is structured, smooth and neat fitting.

As most of you already know, it was my 53rd birthday on Sunday – thank you all so much for the Birthday Girl Love xx
In true Bev style, I intended to prolong the celebrations for as long as humanly possible. I still have two more ‘festival of Bev’ dates planned in the next two weeks – any excuse for champagne and cake I say!
As we live on the coast, weekend daytime wear can be pretty casual.
Thankfully the sun was shining on Sunday, the sky was a vivid blue but the shadows were cool.
I wanted to look daytime classic but remain warm enough in the process.
This was one of two outfits I had planned for the day. The other was navy and black leather.
Nudes and winter whites are firm favourites with me, they seem to suit my skin tone. All you need to pull this look off in winter, is the weather goods to be on your side – they obviously knew it was my birthday!
Having Beckie home to celebrate with us was wonderful (even if she did raid my wardrobe before heading back to Brisbane) although be it for a very brief 24 hours. Jonny and I treasured every second.
Gosh we love this kid. She truly makes us both burst with pride.
She is working her baby lawyer butt off I tell you (as are all the other grads she started with). Extremely late nights (midnight) at the office plus trying to juggle ‘life’ and studying for her Admission to Practice Law. And that’s without Two Corporate Girls.
She is coping amazingly well.
Hot of the press: If you are a Brisbane local, look out for TCG on a billboard – I know, a BILLBOARD!
Anyway, as usual get back to it Bev…
We had a fabulous lunch at Fish on Parkyn in Mooloolaba – I highly recommend this place if you’re a lover of the freshest fish/seafood cooked to perfection.
Huge bonus – I never spilt anything down my white jeans 😉
So as you can tell, my love of the humble cardigan is way more than just a flirtation.
Here’s a few ways to style yours:
- Denim of any colour – it just works. Casual or Chic. Long cardigans and denim love each other dearly.
- Mix up your footwear: Ankle Boots | Sneakers | Fancy Flats | Over The Knee Boots | Heels – so many looks available from just one cardigan.
- Think corporate. In the winter months replace a short jacket with a lightweight coatigan. No more Arctic chills from the aircon either. Add a pop of colour with a silk scarf and a killer bag.
- Add opaque tights to a knee-length dress. Finish off with a long cardigan and ankle boots.
- Drop crotch pants look awesome with a long cardigan and sneakers for off-duty style.
- If your cardigan is lightweight, wear a leather jacket over the top, for on trend fancy layering.
It’s confession time…would I find a long cardigan (or three) in your style arsenal? Any that you think I should buy? Can we just keep this between ourselves though? – Jonny is continually hyperventilating at my growing clothes collection 😉
