My Style Comfort Zone

I’m guessing you all know my style pretty well by now, right?

New here? H E L L O   B E A U T I F U L – thanks for stopping by…

If you do know me, you already know I’m a classic dresser, with a touch of edginess thrown in, for the days when I feel ultra confident. Well confident enough to throw caution to the wind.

Yep, those are my favourite days.

The days that excite me.

The days when I push a few boundaries and pray to the fashion gods that I can pull it off without looking like a try-hard

I do have a side to me that quite likes shocking people though…not in a ridiculous way, but in a way that is unexpected and makes me feel fabulous.

It may just be a fancy sleeve detail ( I just adore sleeves with a difference) or think drop-crotch pants worn with a silk shirt and heels – you get the picture.

I also believe, each and every one of us are unique in our own style.

We each have our own style personality.

This personality makes us gravitate to clothes that fall into our comfort zone.

Clothes that fit and flatter our shape, or pieces that make us feel a million dollars.

Our eyes are naturally drawn to our favourite colours or styles – it’s just how it works.

It’s why we end up buying what we do.

I see this every single day at Country Road – gorgeous women that know their style so well.

Of course, there are also people who are too scared to try something new. This devastates me – because I can tell that they are not happy with what they buy, but they buy it anyway.

By comfort-zone clothes, I mean the everyday grab-and-go items – not the show-ponies.

Just things that you put on without much thought, because you know, they are uniquely you.

For me, jeans, plain tee’s/crisp white shirt, jackets and scarves are my casual armour humidity permitting...with a cheeky heel of course 😉

If I’m ever in  doubt, or rushing my ass off, this is where my eye goes first when I step into my Tardis of a wardrobe.

I also lust after pieces that feel as good as they look, for the days when jeans just don’t cut the mustard.

On those days I usually reach for a soft pant.

This little combo is right up my street:

My Style: Comfort Zone

Black and White Indie Shirt * $109.00 (I’m wearing S/M) | Black Sammy Pants * $115.00 (I’m wearing S/M) | Free as a Bird Scarf 8 $39.00 (Below) all Bella Lido | Iris Sandals (Last Season) from Country Road (try the outlet store) | Jord Wooden Watch ‘Sydney’ * $199.00

  • Black.
  • Stripes.
  • Monochrome
  • Shirt.
  • Comfort.

The pieces that will see me through almost any occasion and still make me confident and put-together when I look in the mirror.

Oh yeah, I threw a wardrobe shin-dig to celebrate the arrival of my first pair of soft pants – my butt and belly were extremely happy 😉

What’s not to love about an elasticated waist  eh?

They look fabulous with a heel, ballet flat or a statement sandal.

If you get the colour right, they will also jump between seasons, with minimal effort.

Dress them up or down – the just work.

For me personally, comfort factor is of high importance too, along with the fabric of course…I know, I know, here I go again – getting the fabric spot-on is super-important though.

The right fabric in a soft pant will give you a clean, drapey look, without a hint of clingyness.

Remember soft pants shouldn’t look sprayed on –  getting the size right is crucial to success.

It always helps in my book if said soft pants also come with pockets – just saying!

This shirt was a love at first sight moment for me, classic monochrome with stripes – always a winner.

The shirt is made from 100% Rayon and the pants 100% Rayon Jeruk – they feel fabulous and although lightweight, are still a great addition to your winter wardrobe.

Just if you didn’t know, Bella Lido are based on the Sunshine Coast – yep in my neck of the woods. They wholesale in most states, but have a great little online store too.

How lucky am I?

So tell me beauties, what’s your casual? Hit with me your go-to ‘everyday’ look?
