Lets start with the confession.
My name is Bev and I have too many clothes.
Yes. I. Do…but can we keep this just between ourselves?
Jonny doesn’t need to know right? 😉
So many clothes in fact, that I can’t see the wood for the trees.
My wardrobe is bursting at the seams and in urgent need of a wardrobe edit.
There are not enough days in the week, to wear all the stuff I own.
R I D I CU L O U S
I desperately need to cull.
But, I can never seem to find the time.
The urge to cull, always seems to come at a time when I’m dashing around like a headless chicken, a time when I can’t find anything and want to rip out my whole bloody wardrobe and start again.
In the meantime, until I find the time that is, my wardrobe just keep growing.
Honestly, there is so much in my wardrobe now, that I have no idea what I have any-more.
I’m thinking of selling off some of my hardly worn pieces, but not sure how to do it – any suggestions greatly received. The rest, I will continue to give to charity.
Anyway, because I can’t see half of the clothes I own, I find myself wearing the same things ALL of the time.
I’ve even found myself experimenting with the things I love.
Which to be honest, is not really me. I’m more of a classic dresser.
But since I followed the Fox In Flats style dare prompt Day 12: Fave Dress, different:
I tucked my Bohemian Traders Shirtmaker Dress into my Katies Fashion jeans.
Who even am I?
Just call me Ms. Experimental – because I seem to be on a roll.
Tights and leggings? Yes.
But jeans – No.
But I quite like it…
There is always a first time for everything right?.
I was desperate to wear my new stripe frock (WITH POCKETS – I might add) from Bohemian Traders – (here’s me in the black and white version) but I was too lazy to tan or shave my legs…I know, lazy-girl beauty as it’s best – if in doubt cover it up!
I was standing looking for a warm top to wear with my jeans.
My eye went straight to this dress and before I knew it, I was conjuring up this outfit it my head.
As soon as I put it on I liked the look.
This combination works well because of the dress shape.
The loose fit is perfect for going over jeans, mainly because you can’t see the waist and zip.
Dress length is the key to success for pulling this off – because the dress is acting more like a tunic.
Any dress that sits slightly on or above the knee, and is not too fitted, works like a dream for dual purpose.
Plus, it’s also a great way to extend the life of your favourite frocks through the cooler months.
This look works with both a boots and heels – but would also look amazing with a sneaker.
Or go for a preppy look with a brogue, a killer bag and a huge scarf.
With a little imagination, the possibilities are endless.
Just think how your wardrobe could change by experimenting with what you already have.
I’ll be doing this for the foreseeable future, that is, until I find half of the stuff that is hiding from me in my Tardis of a wardrobe 😉
So pray tell, am I the only one with a chaotic wardrobe? Do you plan time for regular wardrobe edits? If so, tell me your secret.
Do you experiment with your clothes?
I know, stop, with the bloody questions Bev!
