Pinch Me: Stripes and Pockets

BAM – it’s happened again.

Stripes, pockets, monochrome and comfort in one gorgeous creation… it feels like my birthday.

It was a while ago now that Bohemia Traders first popped on my fashion radar.

But I watched from afar. Waiting patiently for the one piece that grabbed my heart.

So, I guess it would be fair to say, that my love affair with everything Bohemian Traders truly started after I entered a competition on Instagram.

The lucky winner would get to bag the Ahoy dress.

Stripes, POCKETS and a great v-neck.

When I found out it was me, I was at work (Country Road if you are new around these parts) in the back office checking instagram making sure my phone was on silent –  😉

*Ahem, of course, it goes without saying, I was on my break!

First words out of my mouth ‘I knew I would win’. And its true, I did.

Still not sure how this info came my way, but who cares – I was delighted.

The Ahoy dress was in my life.

Fast forward a few months…this little beauty arrives.

French Terry Striped Dress * $129.00 Bohemian Traders  |  Leopard Shooties: Rockport (few seasons ago)  | Sunnies: Witchery

As soon as this dress arrived, I instantly noticed the quality.

Quality is so important to me (blame the bridal industry). Yes, I want style and wearable fabric but the workmanship has to be up to standard too.

I want to know that  its not only easy to wear but easy to care for too.

So as you have probably gathered, five months after the Ahoy dress arrived in my life…my collection of BT loveliness is growing.

Ok. I’ll admit it. I’m hooked.

The gorgeous Emily (the maestro behind the brand) really knows her stuff when it comes to selecting the right pieces to showcase.

Listen-up.

Stop. Right. Now. I’ve got my bossy pants on 😉

If you’ve never been on the Bohemian Traders website, take a moment to head over and really have a good look around… yes, you have my permission to leave, as long as you promise to come back of course!

I know. How good is it?

So many lust worthy, wearable pieces that are bang-on trend.

Are you hooked too?

Now, don’t feel the need to shy away from the horizontal stripes.

It’s always possible to wear them.

I believe everyone can.

Let go of those years of believing horizontal stripes are a no-no.

Horizontal stripes work best if the dress is streamline (i.e you need to wear your Spanx underneath) or if like this dress, the length being a touch shorter means your legs can offer the balance to the stripe and fullness of the frock.

What I love most though, is the easiness.

I will reach for this frock at every opportunity.

It will be my A/W go-to.

Add a soft trench for classic perfection, along with a wedge or ankle boot.

Or maybe a biker jacket – to tough-it-up a bit.

Fancy a bit of luxe? Add a sneaker and a coat of fake tan.

Throw a huge scarf around your neck in a clashing print for a touch of warmth.

I have so much love for this dress.

But the overall win – THE POCKETS.

Oh yes. I am truly that obsessed by them.

Whats not to love about a pocket eh?

Shameless plug:

Do you know about my hashtag on instagram?

Yes, I know. I have my own hashtag – still a bit excited that one of my readers created this for me.

So, if you are part of the #everydaystyle #autumnstyle gang on Insty or Facey, I’d love you to play along with #irismaylovespockets too.

Every Saturday I do weekly round-up of the pocket gorgeousness from the previous week.

On week ten there will be a prize.

Yes a prize.

Are you with me on the stripes /pocket / monochrome obsession? Shopped at Bohemian Traders yet? If so, what did you get?

I’m heading over to join in with the lovely girls who hang out at Kimbalikes place for Wardrobe Wednesday…come and see what everyone else is up to.
