Apologies for the nasty layout today pretties…I’ve got an issue with the formatting on the top half of the page – it’s doing weird things, that requires a piece of code to fix… Just so you know, my knowledge of code fits onto my pinky finger nail 😉

I’ve had a quite a chuckle to myself over the word Bohemian.

Bohemian and I – well, we don’t really fit together into the same sentence.

If I describe myself, I ALWAYS use the word classic…buy maybe I’m just not as classic as I originally thought!

Read on…

Bohemian
bəʊˈhiːmɪən/
noun
1. a native or inhabitant of Bohemia
2. a socially unconventional person, especially one that is involved in the arts.
synonyms: nonconformist, unconventional person, beatnik, hippy, avant-gardist, free spirit, dropout, artistic person.
“he is a real artist and a real bohemian”
That description is not me. Not one bit. Not at all.
Or is it?
I would always say I am classic, through and through.
But I, am also a bloody realist…that can sometimes be too honest…but that’s a little secret we will keep between the two of us, for the foreseeable future, if that’s ok?
I am also more than happy to name and shame my ridiculous thought process. Well, what’s the point of keeping my crazy to myself eh?.
Especially, if I can make you gorgeous lot smile 😉
So here goes…
I can remember the moment Bohemian Traders popped on to my fashion radar. The word Bohemian totally threw me.
Yes me.
Me, who has loved fashion and styling for as long as I can remember.
Could there really be anything on the Bohemian Traders website that would suit my classic style personality?
Surely not.
But do you know what? Even against all my inner thoughts – my mind remained open.
Open enough to look further.
I was intrigued to delve beyond the name, beyond the title.
Who knew what pleasure would be waiting for me, if I would just be brave enough to take a look.
To delve a little further than my mind thought I should.
And I’m delightfully happy that I did.
Because when Bohemian has the word Traders next to it – all sorts of magic happens…
And I for one, fall instantly in love.
Bohemian Grey Linen
Linen Boyfriend Trouser $139.00 *(on sale)  |  Basic Line Tank in Navy $49.00 *(on sale) |  Iris Platform (look in store as sold out online)  | Stone necklace $75.00 (on sale)
When I first laid eyes on these Bohemian Traders Linen Trousers I just knew they had to be mine.

They are grey and they are linen.

A colour I love and a fabric I adore.

Did I mention they have POCKETS?

Simply. Irresistible.

And the grey makes them a versatile transeasonal peace – no matter where you live.

Just imagine how good a linen jacket and simply tee would look.

Add a scarf, and some chunky jewellery  – the possibilities are endless…

I always lust after pieces in my  ‘robe that offer me a choice.

That shout ‘pick-me’ – every time I walk inside.

Pieces I long to wear.

Yes beauties, it goes without saying (but I will anyway) that I love my frocks (especially if linen is involved in some way) but trousers have ALWAYS been my utopia.

They compliment my pear shape. They cover my legs and streamline my thighs.

They’re  my saviour.

My go-to.

The item I always grab, when I’m unsure (humidity permitting…otherwise, it will be hands-down a maxi).

I add a heel, my favourite tee, a shirt or a jacket and I can walk into a room feeling confident and without a care in the world.

So the moral of the story is ALWAYS ‘keep an open mind’.

Never judge a book by its cover. Be brave and explore…because you might just find the magic.

AND Never say never, especially if it involves clothes, shoes, make-up or indeed labels – because, I have been bitten on the bum far too many times to confess 😉

Righto, it’s over to you…have YOU ever discarded a label by its name? Ever thought, that shop is not for me, when you’ve never even looked inside?

I’m buzzing with happiness…Kimbalikes is back for the regular Wardrobe Wednesday

  • I can see why you fell in love with those pants – they are gorgeous and you look fabulous in them. So versatile! I love pieces that can be dressed up or down like those. I must say I have shied away from leopard / animal print all my life….ok I won’t say never. This winter may be the time for me to open my mind and give it try! xox

    • Wendy they are so versatile and the quality of the linen is amazing…I just love my linen!
Go for the leopard…just take baby steps though until you feel more comfortable – shoes are a great place to start. Leopard looks fabulous with chambray!! xxx

  • Norlin Mustapha

Gosh I love those pants on you! This is still in my “I’m still thinking and if it’s still there then it’s mine” basket. You look amazing in them Bev! I’m not a “bohemian” chick by any means, but I do love the pieces she’s got so far. So versatile!!

    • Oh thanks darling…you are so kind. I love these pants so much. They are extremely comfortable and suit almost any occasion…if they are still available, I would definitely go for them xx

  • Kim-Marie from Kimba Likes

I have these pants in the Steel stripe, and I adore them too! I bought them oversized for a more relaxed silhouette. Adore them and they’re fab on you!

    I’m buzzing that you’re buzzing! x

    • How cool are these pants ? – I fell instantly in love with them! I have the lighter stripe ones too, so no doubt I will be sharing those babies soon. Thanks so much darling girl, its soooo good to have you back in bloggy land. xx

  • Charlie

She makes it look bohemian, you make it look classic. Great pants. Grey is such an under rated colour. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and outfit!

    • Oh Charlie you have just made me day! I’m never going to go down the true bohemian route, but if I can add my own classic twist to items that maybe could be passed by, then I’m more than happy!

  • These pants are a great find Bev – awesome things happen when we look beyond. Great styling too x

    • Thanks so much Kate. They feel incredible…fabric is such a huge deal to me – I can be swayed in a heart-beat xx

    • Thanks so much Petra – I’m so in love with them. I just know I will wear them to death! xx

  • I reckon the pants look better than you than they do on the model! x

    • Oh Janet thank you…I’m sure it was just a clever camera angle though…in fact it was drizzling when my hubby took the pics – it probably gave me a massive advantage! xx

  • I too never thought I’d see the day when “boho” and “Sonia” would appear in the same fashion sentence together… until Em created Bohemian Traders. How the tables have turned! You look fabulous, as usual. Love the relaxed yet luxe styling. x

    • Me too gorgeous. How amazing is Em? She has managed to put the right about of boho into classic by using the most fabulous threads along with the most incredible design. Perfect combo – especially if us classic gals keep coming back for more! xx

  • You look sensationa Bevl! Those pants are all kind of wonderful. Happy New Year gorgeous! xx

    • Happy New Year Stunner! Thanks so much for the love – these trousers are a definite keeper! Mwah xx

  • Lisa Mckenzie

I love these pants on you Bev they look ahmazing!I do like a bit of bohemian in my wardrobe but I call it luxe bohemian ,I can’t wear true bohemian type pieces or I look like an ageing hippie, but I do like a kaftan dress or 2 and anything with ,tassels, lace, pockets or pom-poms and embroidery catch my eye.The only style that is not me is retro,I will leave that to the fabulous Kimba.
I do seem to stick to my favourite stores but I have found a couple of great prices from just walking past shops I would never go into,so no never say never.
I love this post you gorgeous girl ,you’re rocking those pants sweets.Xx

    • Lisa – ageing hippie is exactly how I feel when I think of adding me, and Bohemian in the same sentence. But like you, I’m keeping a very open mind…the occasional kaftan seems to work ok – I just have to be selective!
Let’s make a pact to always walk into shops/or look at websites that we think are not us – because I adore trying on something that makes me eat my words. Tonnes of love my friend xxx

  • You look fabulous Bev. I love the pieces together. V x

  • Love this look and don’t you look completely different with your hair pulled back. Love it.

    • Thanks gorgeous…the humidity around these parts (plus I’m totally lazy) means I can’t resist tying my hair back! xx
